At our facility at Bernhard Bus we had an old GM 4104 coach. We also had a burned Eagle coach and we had bright silver siding that was left over material from previous jobs.
We started with the rear Eagle cap and at the same time we decided to extend the coach an extra 8" to give more room in the engine compartment.
After we had modified and attached the rear cap of the Eagle onto the 4104, we installed large side doors to give total access to the engine, transmission and radiator. We installed a turbocharger on to the 6-71 and installed a V730 transmission for better performance.
We installed bright silver side around the coach and changed the luggage door to cafe type (swing out) doors with hidden door locks.
We have a new technique of installing sheet fiberglass material onto the side of the coach that gives us a smooth looking coach from the silver side up.
We treated the front of the coach with stainless steel and gave it a look similar to an Eagle coach.
We like working with stainless steel so we also installed a stainless steel visor. Some people like this look, some may not. The jury is still out on this idea.
